A degree above Bachelor Well educated, and at least theoretical knowledge
An accounting degree Budgeting, savings, etc.
A course in logic Thinking things through
Speak another language At least our neighboring countries: Spanish, French Canadian

One response you did not have a box for-Military Service. I think serving our country in the armed forces is absolutely essential to having the power to send them out. If you've never been there-you shouldn't have the right to control what you don't know. Whether its the Army, Navy, Marines, or Air Force, some form of service should be on a candidate's resume. Question is- if Jack Welch ran and won, how would he deal with tyrants and dictators like Hugo Chavez (on oil)? If Ross Perot won, will we be better off now, than 16 years ago?

I do believe that for a nation to be economically great, fiscally sound, and secure, a president must have at least a good sense of what its like in private business sector. Having held such position as a board directorship or a CxO would definitely help. For the past decades, so much emphasis has been made on Foreign Policy, that the nation neglect to correlate the state of our economy to our our overall national security.
